This section should help you to read and create demolition plans
What are they?
As we get ready for construction we need to communicate to the tenderers, construction team and sometimes the council what construction is to take place on the site.
Depending on the complexity of the project them may also incorporate, drainage, gradients, levels, demolition, and drainage all on the one plan. Often, they are split up into different plans.
It should be:
Clear
Clean
Accurate
Easy to understand
Symbols
You may leave out proposed plants at this stage as to clean up the appearance of the plan and remove clutter. Existing trees should be included unless you have a separate plan for this.
Line Weights and Types
When drawing by hand or on the computer this guide will give you a starting point buy you should refine your hierarchy to suit your graphics style. Generally, on the computer you can get away with finer weights than you can by hand.
Trees - 0.5mm
Medium Cover (shrubs) - 0.35mm
Low cover (groundcovers and small plants) - 0.15mm
Overhanging objects such as eaves: Dashed
Setout Information
This is an opportunity to dimension Construction items sizes and offsets and locate their positions.
Specifications
It is a common place to specify materials and construction methods.
