Geelong Reclaimed Dry Garden
About: This garden was created for a family living on the side of the Barwon river in Newtown, Geelong.
The site is on a slope that finishes approximately 20 metres higher than the road which made it an challenging and intriguing project. The site is situated on the side of the Barwon river, so the first part of our project was to remove weeds and stabalise the slope. We used a large amount of rosemary pegging down the stems so that it would re-root and hold together the soil.
We then focused on the courtyard halfway up the hill. This was a chance to create something special to capture the views of the river. It was made from almost exclusively reclaimed materials from the pavers to the seating and walling.
